After updating my system with the KBs mentioned here, I had immediately noticed some strange behavior on my Windows Vista Login Screen.
Was I was being cloned or I was seeing double? There were 2 logins both tied to my account.
I traced the problem down to the OmniPass software that is used with my fingerprint scanner on my Fujitsu P1610 Tablet PC, which also has some problems in Vista being pretty processor intensive when using IE. My buddy Craig Pringle has a post on version 5 being pretty processor and hard drive intensive. And has a solution to eliminate that. I sent an email to OmniPass to let them know of the problem. I never heard back from them.
The fix I found on my own was to simply uninstall the OmniPass software and reinstall it.
Be sure to backup any existing profiles you may have first. This should also be done if you make any changes in the future, add a user, remove a user, loose a finger or add an additional one. J
It is nice to have it on your personal computer, if so place it on a separate partition (most computers come with one now a days). Also put it on a USB key and keep it in a safe place and make sure the access to that is encrypted as well incase Iever need it again or wipe my hard drive.
Problem solved.
